Leupold spotting scope

Scoot

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a leupold spotting scope that has the followings specs:

1) armored

2) completely waterproof/fogproof (I realize there's actually no such thing, but I'm looking for one that's advertised as such).

3) Fixed power 20x.

Do they make such a beast? I can't find it if they do. If leupold doesn't make this scope anymore, what's the next best company that does? Without going up into the Swarovsky price range, that is.

Lets save you a few bucks. What will you be doing with your scope? Will you be just going down to the range? Or will you be getting it wet by hunting? I saved a lot of money on mine because I didn't get it waterproof. Is there a reason why you need or want to fixed at 20x power?

I want it waterproof because I hunt in rain, slop, and wet conditions at times- absolutely won't consider one that's not waterproof. I want a 20x because fixed power spotting scopes are much lighter (I put on a ton of miles by foot), less wear on ones eyes than variable power scopes (by far), more clear top to bottom, side to side than a variable power scope, and apples-to-apples gather light better than variable power scopes.

Don't want to get into a debate about fixed vs. variable power scopes, though. Just looking for a decent scope that meets the specs I defined in the first post. Any suggestions about that scope (doesn't have to be a Leupold, BTW) would be very welcome.

Thanks,

I got my scope for storm spotting and the range. I am a ham radio operater thats why I storm spot. If you want for info about it e-mail me at [email protected]. Anyways thats why I didn't get one that was water proof. Also I didn't know it was more clear if you have a fixed power and lighter. Later I hope I helped.
