Putting up beavers

just wondering if anyone can tell me why when i put up beaver that it drys really white in some spots and drys normal in others on the same fur. the auction pick up guy told me i would get hit for it , but at the time i thought it was from using salt but have stoped doing that, and still is happening. are my drying conditions not quite rite? am i fleshing to much? or over strecthing? any help would be great!

It's fat you didn't remove when you fleshed it. Take a old spoon to the hide after a few days and scrape it off. Also rub down the leather with a rag to remove all the oil build up.
