I don't remember what these are called, but this is an exotic, domesticated duck of some kind. If I remeber correctly, it's some kind of africanized species.

Not sure of their origins (South America?) but I agree Tom, this is probably a domestic crested duck of some kind. Have seen these exhibited in open class and 4-H poultry shows. Apparently lots of color, shape and size variations too. If you Google "Crested Ducks" you'll get a look at more ducks including ducklings with bad haircuts than you can imagine.
