Spirit & Okoboji

When do you guys find the ice normally goes out, and when does the bass fishing generally get good? I have inlaws 45 mins away from there and have always wanted to check those lakes out! Any help would be appreciated!

Well this year is a crazy year down here in central Iowa we no longer have ice and only got out once on it this winter. I have seen that they have about 10-12 inches on Okoboji so it should be off very early this year granted a huge cold snap doesn't happen. I like to start fishing in early may and have caught some nice bass. Okoboji has some nice smallmouth in it too.

Check out okoboji.com and look for the live web cam. They have two. One, there is nothing but open water, and the other had a large sheet of ice push into it but it isnt much. The cam that has all open water had a large sheet of ice in it yesterday but it went in one day!
