Redfield Res.

Lee: Yes: We do manage a few big slabs in the spring. Sometimes you can have a nice limit of 12-14" in a hr or less. If you fish it in the winter be careful as there is a lot of springs there.Havent fished it in a while but never much luck finding the slabs and big perch.Good luck and be safe.

Met a lady at Peterson's Pet Shop picking up minnows on her way to fish the bridge pillars for crappies they do well on them there and catch the occasional 3-5lb. largemouth there as well as a few pesky rock bass.

My friend steve and I fished redfield 2 times last winter, nothing but dink perch. They stocked walleyes in the lake 4-5 years ago, and have been putting in fingerlings ever since. I guess the fish are of keeper size and larger now but they aren't letting anyone keep them until they get the population up I guess. I see lots of people fishing the northern part of the lake in the spring in boats for the crappies. We went with steves brother and his wife last spring, and his brother caught a jumbo lake trout with a buckeye under the bridge while we were crappie fishing. The crappies are real fickle there, but it would be great to find out where they are hiding in the wintertime if you had a day to run around and look for them.

Tight lines , TO Tim

I have fished it a couple times in the winter early ice in one of the backsets just west of the launch near the bridge.I caught a few rainbows 13 to15 inches a few rockbass thats it.The problem with fishing it in the winter is there is to much snow.I caught a eye last year early summer about 14inches so they are growing well.
