Penske Intrepids

Is it just me or does this sound like maybe Penske is trying to make Dodge mad so they cancel the long term contract? Penske has run a Toyota before in open wheel competition.

It could be, but the Petty's have an Intrepid there too. I think they are just all trying to figure out this charger yet. Dodge screwed up the design of the front end and they may just be using the "they have to use the old car to compete" ploy as their way of begging for template concessions too.

Also, I wouldn't think Dodge would get their feathers too ruffled over this if the Intrepid finishes well this season and wins some races. Sounds like the Charger just can't be competitive enough with that design. The grill design on the Charger is horrendous...sucks in and holds lots of trash/paper.

I was kind of glad to see Penske and the 2004 Dodge (Dodge is not calling it an Intrepid) didn't do so well. Maybe it's not the body configuration, maybe the problem is witht he team?

The change to softer tires really tamed the 12 team, except for qualifying...

I bet Dodge's corporate guys are grinning from ear to ear today with Evernham's Charger running third and all the Intrepids stinking!
