My most favorite days on the ice are Thanks giving,Christmas eve & day,New years eve,any time the Vikes are on T.V.,and of course super bowl.I seem to have most places pretty much to myself on these days.I've been doing it for about 10yrs now and it's always been the same, there are others out there but not like any other "normal" days.

Funny you mention this...

About 4 years ago iffwalleyes and I were out fishing on superbowl sunday on a reservoir in ND not known for large walleyes, and about 1/2 way through the game I pulled up a 9lb 8 oz walleye... got some pics and measurements and released it.

This past weekend iffwalleyes, his dad, my dad and I were up at Selkirk, MB fishing for big walleyes and on late Sunday morning I caught this 10 lb walleye:

The tricky part is drawing a conclusion from this... should I be fishing every 4 years on superbowl sunday for a big walleye, or have I missed 3 big walleyes on super bowl sunday because I haven't been fishing?

I got to do this last year for the first time and sitting in a nice warm perm, catching fish, and watching the game was an absolute blast. A few beverages and some brats on the grill really top it off. Had me seriously considering a perm of my own.
