It is very clear that these two teams are the current powerhouses in cup racing, so how many cars will these two teams send to the chase next year? How many will DEI,RCR, Gibbs, Yates, Ganassi and Evernham send?

I think;

Roush/Hendrick=7

DEI=0

RCR=0

Gibbs=1

Yates=1

Evernham=1

Ganassi=0

I really had a struggle bewtween DEI and Evernham racing on who would get in. I think if Jr. can keep the outside distrations to a minimun and stay level headed he could be a threat, but Ray Evernham is a tough man to bet against too. He also is a treat to run off a string of very good finishes with the 9 car.

DEI-Jr I really believ he can do it if he gets going.

You can't leave out Penske. Both Newman and Busch could very well be there.

I new I forgot somebody. Penske could be good also. I was a big fan of Busch in the 97 car but he really left a bad taste with his actions. It will be interesting to see how the new guy/car/crewchief/team works out for him. Newman would be the champ for many years to come if they ran two lap races, unfortunatly for him they are much longer than that.

Keep an eye on the #11 this year. He should get ROTY honors with the 3 top 10's he got in only 7 races last season. Plus he's got #20 has a team mate. (not too shabby).

I agree that kid is smooth in the 11. I wonder what excuses the DEI throng will come up with when he trounces Truex Jr. for rookie of the year this year???
