Difference between angel eye Jr and Go Devil?

The AE Jr's are going to have a bigger profile but are lighter. That gives the lure more of a flutter when dropped.

I use both the AE and 1/8th Go Devils both on crappies and eyes and let the fishs mood dictate which I'll be using on that day. I haven't used the 1/16th oz Go Devils yet but plan to. The smaller profile and lighter weight will again give me more versatility and another tools to choose from.

AngelEyes are stamped out of brass or some similar metal and are a little bigger in profile. Because they are lighter in weight and have a curved profile they will flutter and slide sideways on the drop.

Go Devils are lead based I believe and are a little smaller in profile. They are easier to keep contact with because they are heavier and smaller in profile so they tend to sink straight down on the drop. They work good for pounding the bottom and slowly raising them up to draw fish up to them.

Go Devils are my favorite jigging spoon.

That is correct bronco. Same product, which is now a different name. Apparently, glow devil was a pre-existing product and required Jeff Beckwith, the owner of Scenic Tackle, to re-name his product due to legal issues. Either of these two products will increase your catch; they have for me.

Custom Jigs and Spins makes the Glow Demons. You can find them at the same link. Go Devils (which used to be Glow Devils) and Glow Demons are different lures and fished differently. You can fish the Demons like the AE, under a bobber, deadstick or jig them.

OK makes more sense now. Already bought the Jr's. but to purchase the Glow or Go is now the $100.00 quetion to answer. as the go is worked differently.

Tension:

you said under a bobber or dead sticking? I thought they were the same and how would a eye work under a bobber?

thanks-

Bronc.

For Go Devils my favorite is the 1/16 oz for crappies, 1/8 oz for walleyes and the 1/4oz works good for eyes too. But the 1/8 is my preferred size for walleye.

For Go Devils I just jig. No bobber, no rod holder, just hold the rod in your hand and jig. Lift and fall, flutter quickly it in the fish's face and hold it still. If nothing takes after holding the lure still, start to raise that lure away from the fish, and if it takes the bait....hang on. That's a hoot.

Angel Eyes are flutter spoons. You raise fast and let them fall fast and hold. The lure will have a swimming action away and flutter back under the hole. Watching the action on an underwater camera is interesting and helps you learn how each lure reacts.

Pinch a minnow head on the hook on both. Full minnows work too, but experiment.

These are not deadsticking lures. A plain hook and minnow is an example of a deadstick in my book. I always use a deadstick in one hole, Go Devil or Angel in another hole.

I do pretty much as Chuck with all those lures and yes the lift and flutter down of the AE is very effective. I've also found when the eyes and crappies don't want any movement, you can take a Angle Eye and dorsal hook a whole crappie minnow or a fathead chub and deadstick it or use a bobber. Give it a try when the flashers lit up but nothings committing, you'll be surprised how many fish it takes.

And now to really throw a wrench in this dicussion.....Custom Jigs and Spins makes a Jigging Demon in popular glow colors too. The size 6 is a little less than 1/16.

The Jigging Eye from JBLures is another "flutter" type lure that is somewhat aggressive in the drop like the Jrs. They are a round, eye-shaped lure with a treble hook and are heavier than the Jrs.

All of these are good baits and all have their place with either the crappies or the waldos and perch.

In my experiences, Go Devils catch fish, anything from walleyes to crappies to channel catfish. Angel Eyes on the other hand, well, they look pretty and have lots of flash. smile.gif I don't ever recall catching anything using the AngelEyes. But the Go Devils are fantastic. Another jigging spoon that works and looks very similar to the Go Devil is the JB Varmit.

    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
    • Chef boyardee pizza from the box!
    • Or he could go with leech~~~~~
    • Bear can relate too. Tell Leech to start a new account named Leech5, we'll know who he is.If he has any trouble, Bear can walk him through it.
