H20C and Lakemaster frustrating me. Any help?

I just got both the H2OC and the Lakemaster chip for it. I can't seem to get it to work. When I try to load the data from the chip to the unit, a box pops up and it in it says "No data files saved". Am I being an (Contact US Regarding This Word) or am I missing something? I'm hoping I'm not the only one that has had this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I don't have the pc software yet. Am I correct in assuming I only need this if I want to view the maps online and don't need it for the GPS itself. Thanks for any help.

WW,

No need to load any data from the chip. It is automatically there if you have the chip in the unit. Uploading data to the unit is mainly used for transferring waypoints back and forth and for backing up your data. I also replied to your e-mail, so check that.

Go to Map Menu page, enter Map Data, then move to Map Choice, and select your LakeMaster file.

Im with Paul I think a Lakemaster Chip will automatically be there. Otherwise do what Scout11 said.

Another thing to check (this is what I did) is the install of the chip.Make sure it is in it's slot all the way with the turn knob putting pressure on it.

I think you need to have it in an "advanced mode". My black and white needs to be,not sure about the color version.

The Lakemaster chip is "plug and play" no need to load anything. In a 5 minute phone call today we got WalleyeWarrior up and running.

I just wanted everyone to know that Paul was of a great help. My chip was loaded properly, I just wasn't zooming in far enough on the correct lakes. It is people like Paul that make this forum such a great site to visit. Thanks again, Paul.
