Another Prop Question

I looked at my prop and it has 11-1/2 X 19. What does that mean? Is this an 11-1/2 pitch or 19 pitch?

11 1/2 is the diamater of the prop.
19, the second number, is the pitch or the distancein inches the prop pushes your boat with one revolution.

So your prop is 11.5" diameter with a 19 pitch

What pitch does everyone recommend? This motor is a 1986 Johnson 50hp. It has a hard time coming out of the hole. I do have the fins on it.

I would drop 2 sizes and go with a 15".

I believe it is actually 15" recommended, but if you can "borrow" a 17" I would test that first

I know about sizes since I just purchased one for a 50hp I had on a Lund.
