Propane Lantern

I have used mine in a portable for years and have had no problems. The canvas in my otter has plenty of air transfer through the fabric. Just be careful with a hot lantern on the canvas, don't ask me how I know this. Good luck, Z

At night I have the propane lantern going along with the buddy heater in a Clam 5600 with the vents cracked a little and have no problems whatsoever. Plus our cabin had propane lights and a propane stove before we put in electricity and we never had a problem. Lots of the warnings they put on things nowadays are there because they have to be.

Welcome to FM

It can be dangerous. Just don't button down you portable to tight. Leave a vent open or door cracked. Just so there is some fresh air getting in somehow. If your using a flip over style usually there is enough fresh air coming in around the edges.

Remember!

When your lantern starts getting dim in your portable shack, it is either running out of propane or running out of oxygen. Alot of times, it is running out of oxygen to continue burning.

How many times have you guys opened your shelter door to notice your lantern get brighter.

Hmmmm...

Just ventilate properly and you'll be alright. Alot of times I have my door halfway open anyway.
