Frabill Flip Overs - How are they?

Anyone with any opinion or advice on the Frabill Flipovers.

I an considering them for the following reasons :

When in travel mode, it is 17 inch high which would fit my truck with the tonneau cover on

I have looked at the Otters and the Fishtraps but they are at least 20 inch high and would not fit with the tonneau cover on.

I need space for 2 and a dog. Preferably, 4 holes, and one heater and flasher.

How is the quality of Frabill fishing shelters in general?

I also have an XL Twin very nice house and should have plenty of room for 2 plus a dog. I like the fact that the seats are removable. I fish by myself most of the time and olny use one seat on the other hand if my son goes I can just throw in the other seat. The new XL Twin seats are really nice. The padding on them is really comfortable.

You won't go wrong with a Frabill!!

I just purchased a used Frabill XLTwin last week, mine is the older style with flipdown bench seat. It is warm, easy to setup and spacious. I have looked at the new ones before and really like the size for the money. I like the black color as for lighting I use a craftsman 19.2 volt flouresent lite ($10.00) hanging in the middle and it lights up the whole shelter. I would say buy it, mine fits in the back of my GMC Yukon with no problems.

Like the other guys say, the XL Twin is great. I love how large it is when set up. I am 6ft and I can stand up straight in it. It also has a lot of room between the sled and the door. Plenty of room for 4 holes. Not terribly heavy either...I would recommend it.

I have a 3 year old triplex and a 2004 solo. I like both of them. I use the solo when I'm alone because of the weight, and I use my triplex as a 2 person with tons of room. I also added hyfax to both of them, because I pull them with an atv.(it really saves on the bottom of the sled)

You can't go wrong with Frabill. Some of the better quality houses out there. The fabric seems to hold up, durable sled and the chairs are some of the comfiest I've sat in.

I just picked up my triplex a month ago...used to twice so far and I love fishing out it. Great for 2 guys. Pull the middle seat as well. I'm working on getting some hifax added and I'll be set and happy with it overall.

Quote:

What exactly is hifax

hard plastic strips about 1/2" thick. They are fastened to the bottom runners on your fish house tub. They make the sled track straighter, also helps to decrease the amount of wear on the plastic tub.

Hifax are typically plastic runners you can place on the bottom of your pull behind fish house...they are also used on the tracks of snowmobiles too. They are just a wear strip to help prevent the plastic from ultimately wearing thru on the bottom of your fish house. They make pulling your house a lot easier too.

this site will show a picture of what they look like.

Hope that helps you out.
