lawdog
I think he's brought the program a long ways, but it doesn't seem to get over the big hump. Problem is, I don't know of another coach that can get it over that hump with the facilities we have and the reputation of the program we just aren't going to get the big recruits. Unless you think we can hire a Bob Stoops, Pete Carroll or Steve Spurrier type guy, I don't see a coaching change in and of itself doing much good.Who's your replacement if he gets canned??? I say this by the way as someone who doesn't consider himself a real Mason booster and who isn't all that thrilled with where the program stands... blue_healer_guy
Definatly didn't agree with the decision to go for it on 4th and 5 before half. I would have if the 3rd down and 4th down play weren't the same. Big mo for Virginia getting that 3 before half. The pass at the end, I'm still shaking my head. Don't know who to blame on that one, probably the qb, but the off cord probably called the play but if Mason hears that play called, he's got to overule. Unfortunatly, I gotta agree with lawdog on this one, who else could we get.

The U of M's football program is hobbled by playing fifth fiddle (behind the Vikings, Twins, T-Wolves, and Wild)in their own town. I have lived in Iowa City for five years, and the University of Iowa's football program is everything here, which translates into frenzied fan support, more booster money, and wall-to-wall local media exposure. Minnesota's program cannot command that sort of state, or even local, attention.
