Chev pickup trailer wiring problem?

mnhunter2

Question

I am finishing my first fishouse and tonight when I wanted to check the wiring for the trailer lights before I put the luan on I cant get any power out of the truck, 2005 chev, for the running lights, its the brn wire, the turn signals and the brake lights work fine but cant get any power out of the trailer plug with the lights on, is there a fuse just for the running lights in the trailer connection? any ideas as to where to start?

I had a 2000 1 ton, and I think they are somehow wired same.

There is a fuse in the engine compartment block that is marked Trailer (actually I had 2) and I blew it many times, yours might be same way.

Get some spares to take along, as I said I blew mine many times, I always wanted to put a higher amp type but didn't know if wiring would take it, so I stuck with OEM and kept few spares.
