Canvas Top Zippers

Wavey Davey

Question

The top on my boat is old and the zippers don't work smooth. The tag on the top says to use wax on them. I tried car wax and didn't do much. Do they mean candle wax?
Or, does someone know what works to lube the zippers? Thanks (The zippers are metal)

I would assume they meant beeswax. In comes in small blocks, I think you can get it in large grocery stores.

I expect car wax would gum up the zippers, make them worse.

You might also try a dry spray lubricant such as teflon, which, if it is still available, might be found at Fleet Farm, Home Depot, Menards, etc.
