I do not know. It does bug me to pay the same fee for a portable that is never unatended compared to a Ice house that can sit on the ice all winter. Comes down to $$$ I guess.

Your fish house only needs to be licensed when you are in it, so technically a portable and a permanent are the same.

It's a small price to pay, in my opinion. I license at least three different fish houses, two portables, and a permanent and I think it's worth it. The money is helping out our fisheries.

wow relax man its just a couple bucks its not like the dnr splits it up among co's for steak dinners or an evening at showgirls. bieng an american i guess I am just used to giving half of my apples to my big brother anyways, they take most of em without even giving me a permit of any kind.

I just bought a voyager and can't use it this weekend because of the license. I wish you could get them where you can get your fishing license.

You can. Just tell them you need a shelter lic. It comes out of the same machine you get your fishing license
