I have got to get down there to where you're getting so close to these birds. I only got that close to a Can once and he's at the taxidermist. What an outstanding opportunity. Nice shot.

Tom, he's cropped quite a bit but enough so I could get a decent 7x5" print of him. I made the mistake of getting too close and all the birds went clear across the lake, I had to sit and wait an hour to see if he'd come back, had all but given up and he came back. It was hard shooting today, though, no light and I was like an old lady with camera shake. I'll have to try again tomorrow if the sun comes out. He is one cool duck!

And I hope everyone has a wonderful Turkey Day! Just wanted to report too, the snow geese and Ross's appeared to have moved on yesterday -- and no sign of Hector the Heron.
