finally registerd, been lurking for years

hey all, finally took the time to register on the site, I've been coming here for years. This place has been a wealth of information over the years.

I do however need to tap this talent pool with a question or two. First off, I've read (but can't find it here anymore using the search function) of people using 12 volt computer fans to circulate air in a fish hosue.

I'm assuming that they are suspended from the ceiling to direct (push) the warm air downward?..or are they put by the hole to help keep the open (pull the warm air down)? Also, is one of these little jobbies enough for a 8X10 house?, or do I get a bunch of them from Unclaimed Freight in Aitkin and put them in series?

Next question is, who do you guys recommend (resort wise) to affiliate with on the east side of the big pond (Garrison area)?

first off welcome pout hunter!!! i joined a year ago and wow has this site been helpful to me.

second about the fans. a guy that i fish with uses the computer fans on his 8x8 and works great. he just has one mounted right about his heater, pointing down.

I have 2 fans in my 6X12. One right above the heater to blow it down, and one in the front, to help circulate it around the whole house. Just got my fans from junk computers that people were tossing!!!

I too want to welcome you to Iceleaders and FishingMinnesota. I am sorry I dont have an answer to your question on the fan deal. I dont own a perm. I would say as others 2-3 may do the trick.. the one above the heater I think is key.. pushing the warmth down and back to your level.

as for a resort.. I would check out the sponsor page of fm and see if any of our resort sponsors are over there.

As for your question with fans...I used to own a 8x12 perm...I sold it last year but I put in three computer fans with individual toggle switches. They worked great. I put one in the middle and the other ones on each end of the house....So you could control each fan with each switch and it did push the warm air down to the floor area to keep the temp consistent.....The only draw back is they are somewhat loud...That is the other reason for the individual switches..The only time I ran all three was when I drilled the holes...The fans moved the exhaust out of the house...
