...does anyone have a gas powered 12 volt generator? My perm. house is set up for 12 volt and I have no need for 110 at this time. A regular 110 volt gen. would need an adapter (car charger) to get 12 volts. Could I just take a horizontal crank gas 4-stroke motor (which I have laying around) and a truck alternator (cheaply found at junkyards) and rig a mounting system w/ a belt and housing and just hook it up to the house batt. via jumper cables or something simple as such?
I know in a car/truck the positive lead on the alternator leads directly to the battery and the battery is grounded with a similar lead and the alternator mounting is its own ground. The RPM's would have to be investigated, but I don't think I'm too far off.
Could it be this simple? Any thoughts? Thanks, McGurk
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there,but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
