Matt Johnson
You can get a brand new MarCum OVS 350 for only $219.00. A great buy in my opinion. Here's a link for more info... MarCum OVS 350.It's a new camera from MarCum for this winter that is an excellent option for those on a budget looking to add an underwater camera to their arsenal... Deitz Dittrich
As Matt stated the OVS 350 is a new unit put out by marcum. And as we know marcum does make quality equipment. However, lets not forgett that Aqua-Vu also makes an underwater camera for about that same price range.. The Aqua-vu Scout is priced at $199. I have a scout and have been very pleased with it.I suggest you do some research on these two units and decide from there. No matter what you choose you will be happy! Bob_D
I think the guys are right. Either of those units would be just fine. I have a Marcum VS500 and I have not had a single problem with it. I'm actually thinking about getting the new Marcum VS560. I can't personally speak for the Aqua-VU, but I'm very happy with the quality of my Marcum. Mr.Bluegill
Actually, the retail fro the VS 350 will be 199.99. The difference between the 350 and the scout is the scout only has a 5 inch screen, 50 ft of cable and no lights. The scout XL which sells for 279-299 has the 7" monitor like the 350 has a little more cable and lights. So, for 80.00 more than the 350 you get an extra 40 feet of cable. The other difference between the ScoutXL and the 350 is the quality of camera used and the padded softpack that comes standard with the VS350. MarCum does not lower its standards on their lower end cameras. They kept the high quality sony camera compared to the competitors other camera. One othe fact that I am proud of is that all of MarCum's products are manufactured in either Minnesota or Wisconsin!!! Troy
JP Z
Mr. Bluegill. First off. Some competitors may lower the camera quality with Lower end units. But Aqua-Vu doesn't either. The camera in the XL is the Same one in the DT. The only difference is the other OSD board for depth/temp/direction. Granted, not all Aqua-Vu's are made in the US. But I'm quite certain that the 350 isn't either
augernaut
Anybody else notice that the camera on the new Marcum 350 looks absolutely, 100% identical to the camera on those old POS Atlantis cameras? I'm sure that's just a coincidence....
