98 FICHT 150 hp Trim motor

I keep cooking the trim motors on my Evinrude Ficht. At least one a year. Are after market motors available or do I have to keep buying OEM parts $$$$$, and does anybody have an idea why I keep burning up the motors? The outboard moves free and doesn't seem to be fighting when in trims up or down. Granted I don't hold back anything when I'm running but the trim motor doesn't seem to like something I'm doing.

Maybe check and see what kind of amp draw you have on the motor. Possible that something in the pump is binding and burning out the motor. Also make sure that you have good, clean grounds. Yes, there are aftermarket motors.

Siearra part #18-6281 retail $186 and has a full 1 year warranty on it. I think this is correct part #, do you have the oem part that was used? I can verify.

Have you tried any business that rebuilds electrical motors ?

These little buggers are very simple made, I had 2 or 3 rebuilt at a local shop for $ 60.00
