Question

I just got an ifinder h20 (early bday gift from my wife) and I am looking for a few opinions about the pro's n con's of the lakemaster, and navionics map chips. I already have the pc lakemaster pro but from researching the forums it doesn't look like I can use the lm maps I already paid for on the h20 frown.gif.

I dont know the answer to your question...but if it helps, I got a H2o this past spring, and the LakeMaster chip, atleast I think it was the LakeMaster chip....the 100.00 chip anyways....and I love the combo. Works great...plenty of detail for me. Just my 1.5 cents worth........... smirk.gif

Kyle,

Sorry but you cannot download the maps from your P.C. to a chip and then use it on your H2O.

The main difference between the Lakemaster Chip and the Navionics chip is:

1) Navionics will have the larger selection of lakes. These lakes will encompass Mn, Wi, MI, and such. Some of these lakes will be the regular maps and some will be the Pro series maps, and yet others will have one foot contours. The Minnesota Lakes are the same lakes on either chips.

The Lakemaster Chip features only lakes in Mn. The big difference is that this chip allows you to zoom down to .01 of a mile. While I believe that the Navionics chip will only go down to .4 of a mile.

The Lakemaster Chip retails for $100 while Navionics retails for $199. A lot of your decision will depend upon how much you fish out of state, and what lakes you fish in Minnesota. The one thing that Navionics does have in its favor is the fact that it also has LOW in one foot contours on it for Mn. You would need to be a seperate chip from Lakemaster for LOW. That chip also retails for $99 which makes it the same price as the Navionics chip. Either way you can't go wrong. I don't fish WI, or MI much so for me the Lakemaster chip fit the bill. For me it works great and I have never second guessed my choice.
