Repair X70a or new Eagle 480?

Patio

Question

The Lowrance x70 I got in 1995 went out last year. It powers on but always cuts out after it gets warm, and you can't turn it back on right away. I've heard it will cost $200 no matter what's wrong with it. Would I be better off buying the new Eagle 480 for the same price? Seems to have the same features + temperature readout.
Can any of you experts comment on this one?
Thanks for the info

No expert here at all, but i think that this is a no-brainer. Get the Eagle 480. I dont know how many pixels the 70 has, but i bet it isnt half of the 480's. Lots of new technology in locators the last few years. I bought a eagle 320 last year and like it.

My X65 would not come on for me when I put it in the boat. I yanked it out and put in a Eagle 480. A great unit for the price. Only wish i could have used the old transducer and speed sensor. It sucked having to run the wires and pulling the old ones.
