rundrave
Well its that time of year again, the Pheasant Opener in south dakota. By far this is one of my favorite times of the year. People are already starting to show up here, and I am seeing license plates from all over the U.S. roll into town. Its funny knowing that tomorow(Friday oct 14th) is the busiest day of the year at our airport here in Sioux Falls. Weather is looking mostly clear and high 60's low 70's for most of state for both saturday and sunday. I did not go out and hunt public land last weekend, but will be hunting on some relatives land for the opener. Should pretty good all over, I am not sure how much harvesting is going on. Several parts of the state received some rain over the week. Not a whole lot I would imagine, and if anything it wont be as dry and dusty in some areas. I know beans should pretty much be about done, and hopefully farmers have started to hit the corn hard, as that should make it a little easier to get on some birds. I havent spoke with any of my relatives that farm as this is a very busy week for all, with harvest, and family and friends coming in to hunt etc. Hope everybody has a safe trip traveling, to Mn, ND, SD, IA, Neb etc., good luck to everyone and be sure to post how you do this weekend. Noon time on saturday could not come any sooner!

Tyler Holm
I'll looking forward to some shooting back in Aberdeen. I honestly cannot wait to bag some birds. I use to be able to go out and shoot my 3 birds at will, but now that I am an out of stater, I can see myself finding a new appreciation for this sport and the potentials the SoDak holds. Good Luck All!
Ole #1
Is it true that non residents can not hunt public land on pheasant openeing weekend?
rundrave
you maybe be confusing last weekend with this weekend. Last weekend (the 8th and 9th) was opening weekend for SD residents to hunt ONLY on PUBLIC land. This weekend (the 15th) is opener for everyone, to hunt both private and public land.
