GROUSE HUNTING FROM ATVs?

I'll admit I'm not up to date on all the ATV regs, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to ride with a gun across your lap and then proceed to shoot from the ATV.

Let's not take things out of context. We, hunters with ATVs, like to travel from point A to point B in the shortest amount of time possible because the spand from A to B is not worthy of our time: no games. During our travel our guns are in their cases, which is perfectly legal under the law.

If you see a guy riding an ATV with a shotgun across his lap, you should have a friendly chat with the guy: make sure he is not handicapped. Note: it is legal for handicapped individuals to hunt off of ATVs. If the guy is not handicapped and you fail to report him to the wardens, then the problem is you and you should not complain about the guy on the ATV but yourself.

Saw a guy on a 4 wheeler today, gun across the lap with his springer running out front.

I don't think I'm taking anything out of context. The original poster stated he wittnessed this happening. Now maybe he was handicap, I don’t know, but I can’t imagine you can still ride and carry an uncased loaded gun.
