Wednesday Night Hunt (Pics)

Recommended Posts

Found a field just North of Madison that held literally thousands of mallards! It was probably one of the easiest hunts ever. We just sat in the corn with the mojo plus a few dz dekes out in front. The strip of cut corn we were hunting was only 50 yrds wide. The ducks would swing just a few feet above our heads. The ducks still lack color, so it was hard to tell. The four of us managed 18 drakes, 2 hens, and two pintails. As we were driving away, they were still dropping in.

We brought the land owner along (guy in the middle), boy I think he had a blast!

Hope you enjoy the pictures I post. I just enjoy sharing my experiences out here in SoDak.

Row on the right...third duck in. It certainly looks like it has a red head. After looking some more I think it is just the angle of the sun.

Rost mentioned 20 mallards and 2 pintails. The duck in question is not a mallard. It isn't a gaddy either because it's feet are dark colored, not yellow.

I think it is just one of the pintails colored by the sunset.

Anyway, nice pic.

PS I see that Nova and I responded about the same time.

[Edited out by admin: Mr Wizard, please keep the sarcasm and fingerpointing to yourself] BTW Rost, I am headed over to SD at the end of Oct. for ducks, maybe we can line up a shoot while I'm there. Trying too hook-up with jerkinperch also. Hey maybe a group hunt? Great pics. Love to see 'em.

I think we'll be okay posting a few photos on the board once in awhile. I believe the majority of the people like to see them (I know I do). And like I said before, I enjoy sharing bits and pieces of my lifestyle.

Mr. Wizard-let us know when you come out. I think that would be fun. I could line up some pheasants to hunt also.

Good luck this opener!

Congrats on the hunt Rost!

Feel free to post those photos!

I've got some in the camera I'll get up when they are developed. They weren't limits & they weren't mallards but I don't care. I've got my fingers crossed they turn out as well as I think they will.
