SUPER small wonders....

I enjoyed the "small wonders" post.. thought I'd start my own SUPER small wonders post.. I used to work as a scanning electron microscope tech and so I took these shots one weekend on my own time.. common insects that I found around my own house the day before...

Yeah.. for electron microscopy you need to first "sputter coat" the samples with a thin layer of gold in a vacuum chamber. That usually does them in... smile.gif and then of course the 10-15 thousand volts of electrons hitting them in the scope (air also pumped out to nearly a complete vacuum) knocks out them stragglers.
