Minnkota Problem

Pannyraid

Question

I have a Minnkota trolling motor that seems to have a problem. The motor seems to be stuck at one speed and doesn't react when the speed lever is adjusted. I took apart the foot pedal and it seems fine. Do you think the mother board is fried? Where is a good place in the Twin Cities to fix this problem? Is this going to be expensive?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Formula Prop in Brooklyn Park does a good job repairing Minnkota Motors. A friend of mine had his repaired there and was very happy with the service and price. (763)535-8011.

Give us more info. What model, how old, what speed is it stuck at? How about the speed slider, any missing or broken parts/springs there?
Theres more then one circuit board and one is in the foot control. Can you get a hold of another foot control to try?

Thanks for the help guys. The motor is a MinnKota 724 w/ 46lbs thrust purchased in 1999/2000. Although I am no expert, the internal parts of the foot pedal looked fine. I do not have access to another foot pedal to test however.

I'm going to bring it in and hope its not the mother board as I was told that can get expensive ($120-$190). Thanks again for your help!
