Fish house leaked again!!! HELP!!!

Ears

Recommended Posts

Taking a poll on what I should do or request from the manufature of my fish house. I took it in last year when it was less than one year old becuase the roof had leaked and there was water in all of my celing lights. They told me they took of the roof, removed the insulation and let everything dry out. They didn't replace the paneling and put everything back together. Now I just went out to the fish house, and there was water in it again. mad.gif The house has been on the lakes for 3 seasons, should I ask for my money back, a new house or what? My main concern that the lumber in the celing will rot. Any help would be appreciated. confused.gif

Take it back.

It needs to be gutted and fixed correctly, my guess is they just used silicone to try and stop THEIR problem.

You payed alot of money for this house.

Take pictures....start out nice and respectful and work your way up to belligerently psycho.

Good Luck let us know how it turns out.

Words of wisdom right there. This approach has served me well over the years too. wink.gif

I agree, the house needs to be taken back. I would personally insist that they not "fix" it again, but replace it with a comparable house or apply the value of the house (and then some!) towards a new house.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Well the company called me back. They said that the silicone that they were using was bad, and thats the reason for the leak. They said to bring it back and they would take care of the problem. Now this is the 2nd time the celing paneling and lumber in the celing was wet, should I demand to have them replace the lumber and paneling no matter what the condition? They sounded like they would take care of any problems.

I would ask them to replace the wood. If you can't get them to do this then I would try to get them to sign a waiver stating that if any other problems arise due to the roof leaking they are responsible for the repair. Another thing that works is tell them that if the leak occurs again you will be demanding a new fish house or you will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals Office for a bad product.
