CY Young?

I confuse myself sometimes, what I meant to say is he would of been a better candidate if he would of had a few more wins under his belt. I agree his stats were alot better than everyone else. There were a few games he pitched complete game's but lost 2-1, 4-2 close games like that. I guess I have 1 question that goes out to everyone, has there ever been a cy young winner on a loosing team??

Good question and I don't know, but I gotta believe there have been. Lots of good pitchers on bad teams over the years. I'll try to look it up tonight.

(In the meantime, thinking only of the lowly Cubs for all those many years, did Fergie ever win it?)

I'm sure you know I wasn't trying to say I was the only one to pick them, just that they were my only correct predictions. But it was the pitchers that had to come thru after our predictions so it was them who made us correct.

As much heat as Mgrs take when the players stink, they deserve an accolade when the players don't. Can't argue with Guillen for always having the right horse in the race.

Windy, does Herm get Trainer of the Year? and Williams exec of the year? With those kind of awards, I'm sure a tick to the Cell will be harder to come by next season-so keep me in mind for the city series????????

Geno,

I'm not sure about ole Herm, but Kenny got aced out by Cleveland's Mark Shapiro. What a hose job. If anybody desereved exec of the year it was Williams, the trade for Scotty Pods, when everybody and their mother doubted it. Picking up Tadahito out of nowhere, I mean come on. Shapiro put together a nice team that had a great run, for a few months, but my beloved went wire to wire and tied the record for 11 of 12 in the big dance. Oh well, I guess we will keep Kenny humble and hungry, maybe he will try harder next year. Who knows what rabbit he will pull out of his hat, especially if Paulie grows wings and a gets fitted for a "halo". California dreaming...on such a windy day! We shall see. Have a great holiday and as usual...YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES! Windy

Here today, gone tomorrow. So long, Mr. Blum. He provided a historic moment for the Pale Hose but not much else other than that. The Pale Hose let him go to sign with his hometown Pads for $650,000. Every penny counts when the Konerko war starts. Geoff was a cool guy who was nice to know for a few months who has a ring and a memory that can never be taken away from him, I hope he enjoys being closer to his family now in San Diego. Much nicer weather than here in "The Windy". And as usual...how does that go again? Oh yea, YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES!
