CNY Tim
McCarthy pitched a nice game today I watched him down the sox, very impressive. As a rookie it's very hard to comprehend just what this young man did against the world champion red sox in there place as well, that's fantastic. After which I flipped between the Cubs/Cards and Rangers/Twins. I liked what I saw from that Liriano kid and Gardy did the right thing by bringing him in when the game was lost 6-0. He gave up that Matthews home run and then settled into strikout the next two. How about that kid for Seattle against the A's there.. Definitely some good rookie pitchers coming along. On the Cardinal front... Although they won again today and Pujhols and Edmunds went back to back were starting to have issues with Jason Isringhausen (he's hanging em and the cubs were bangin them.) Tavarez saved his @$$ today..."That's a winner!" Magic number is
Down to Earth
I don't think McCarthy's success is all that much of a surprise. If I recall he had a great Spring this year and there was a hint of talk of him being in the 5 man rotation coming out of Spring Training. Definately a bright prospect for the staff next year. Probably will need it as I think the Sox have some pitchers in contract years.
