Question

I just got an old 1986 Honda Fourtax, I ran it some but i went on about a 6 mile run by the time i got back it was really bogging down,In fact it will hardly run now. I tried adjusting the carbs the best i knew how but it didnt improve. There is a black knob on the carb tried that didnt work tried the needle screw on the side didnt work. Is there other needles?? on the bottom maybe or am i just looking in the wrong area. a guy told me it could be the muffler??? thanks ahead of time for help

If it has been sitting a while it more than likely has some debris in the main jet or the needle and seat for the float. To avoid further problems I'd suggest flushing out the tank, and make sure to do the shut off valve too. Then pull the carb and do a good clean up. I've run into this before and done just the carb only to have to redo it again because there was rust in the tank from sitting a long time. May as well start at the top and save headaches later.

You would probably get more replies in the ATV forum too.
