SJB
Last fall sometime there was a great link to satellite pictures that were relatively current(within the last 2 yrs or so) Does any one have that link or remember the were on the board that forum was. I have tried multiple searches and have come up empty. I have tried google and a couple others, but the discussion somewhere on this board were the most current I have seen for the area we hunt. Thanks for the help ahead of time. Mark Christianson
You mean this:Here are the links again so you won't need them e-mailed to you. They are very big files, but here they are:http://www.lmic.state.mn.us/chouse/naip03mrsid.htmlTo view them, check out the link below. I use GIS software, so I'm not sure how well the free viewers work. Enjoy!http://www.lmic.state.mn.us/chouse/mrsid_help.html

Blaze
Just downloaded and installed the earth google tool. WOW!!! This thing is way cool! I just wish the resolution was better at the real closeups like Terraserver is.Thanks for mentioning this one Nova.
iffwalleyes
Some of the areas are really good and some are bad at close ups. If you look for areas that are brown in color they seem to be much clearer. Some cool things that I have looked at are Mt St Helen, The Hoover Dam, and New York City is also really cool they have rendered drawings of the skyscrapers, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Take a look at these places. It is like going on vacation without leaving home.
knoppers
biglakebass gave the best site, I also have that one, long downloads so you will need high speed internet. I looked at the google ones, and they are not even close for clarity as BLB's site. they were taken in 2003. you may have to download lizard tech for these, but thats free.example, I downloaded aitkin county, which is a larger download, and it took 22 minutes at high speed. I guess good maps have tons of code.
