PaulB
I haven't fished up that way before, I'm looking to take my son, dog and tent up there in early fall. Hoping for some fall walleyes, might try to do a little grouse hunting too. Any suggestions or advice are greatly appreciated.

Mr. Nailz
We stayed at Hoodoo Point campground last year and that was a nice place. There is also another campground near there called McKinley (sp?). Both are county parks I think and seemed like nice places to stay. There is a public landing next to Hoodoo also. cliffy
Paul:Just FYI:I just finished a one week vacation at McKinley campground on Lake Vermilion. Its a very nice campground with 24hour bathroom & showers. It has a nice little shop if you need to get the basics. You can get camp sites with or without elec. and water.....good boat landing.....nice people...etc.
PaulB
Thanks for the info everyone. Now I just need to nail down the right weekend (when the fish are biting, naturally) and get up there.
upnorth
You could also consider Wak em up bay campground on the western end of the lake. pretty rustic, no showers but there is a boat launch right next door and docking for your boat at the campground.
