Bait prices

The place I buy most my bait at recently changed owenership and increased prices. It seem to be about 50% higher than other places. They charge $3.75/doz. crawlers, $24.95/flat crawlers,$4.50/doz jumbo leaches. Are these prices normal or high for the Twin Cities area?

I usually pay 2.75 for a dozen crawlers and 3.95 for a dozen jumbos. But thats north of the cities.....

Them prices are a little high.. but theres not much we can do but complain a little... too many bait shops going out of business around the cities.. its nice to have somewhere to get bait.. even if it is a little high.

As of a few weeks ago.. the leeches at Trails End Bass Pro (Fridley) were at $6 and $8 for 1/2 pound of large and Jumbo leeches.. cheapest I have found around. Very nice/fresh leeches. They get them strait from the trappers.. just a heads up to everyone.

Are we talking flat of 500 or 250? For 500 that isn't a bad price at all, I agree the other prices are a bit high though. In town I can get a dozen crawlers for 2.50 and a dozen jumbos for 3.00.

I hate to admit it, but I usually buy nightcrawlers from Walmart. They're under $3.00 ($2.79 or $2.99--I forget) for 2 dozen.
