TonkaBass
Well the sunburn is now gone and my girlfriend won't touch me cause my skin will fall off, hahaha. Everything is going my way, I think it's time to go fishing again. (Is it just me or did it feel like fall this morning, with the temps in the low 70's and everything?!?! feels good anyways)

Big Julie
Anyone hear about the UV alpha vs. beta rays relating to sun damage and future skin problems aka skin cancer?Seems that the beta are the worse for skin damage that potentiates cancer and most sunscreens block only the alpha...!So, sunscreens block sunburn, but not the skin damage that is the big problem.I know of one product that protects against both: Sea and Ski. It's a foam in a can. Look around for it, it's not carried everywhere.fwiw...
beer batter
Most children's sunscreen protect both A and B type of ultraviolet rays. The 45 spf stuff.
TonkaBass
Thanks for the info Big Julie. Where could a guy buy some???
Big Julie
Beer Batter,That I did not know.I'm no expert on sunscreens. Just going on some things I have heard. If the kid's product protect both, that is great. I initially got the Sea & Ski from a medical dermatology clinic for 17 bucks. Wifey found it at white mart for 7!Bottom line is to make sure to know that the uvb is doing the long term severe damage and to protect from it. beer batter
yep **nod**It seems to be limited to the children's stuff for the most part, but they all seem to cover both type A & B uv rays. Costs a couple extra bucks than the regular stuff but it will pay off in your golden years when your other fishing buddies are having chunks of skin cancer removed from their bodies.
