Rolen slumping bad...

I love Scott Rolen but geez he's 3 for his last 38 AB's and I'm tired of watching him ground out with runners in scoring position. Granted his shoulder is or never will be a 100% but Luna or even Nunez would at least get you a little offense, not .095 since the all star break. Just an observation on my part, just trying to get Pujhols a little help...

So your saying he's overpaid and should be sent to the minor leagues? You'd think he was playing for the Twins with such a high batting average with runners in scoring postion. I'll bet he lights it up in the playoffs.

What's overpaid now a days anyway? I'll give Scott credit for fighting through it even not at a 100% he want's to produce like everyone else in the line-up but spot em here and there so he can heal properly that is all. Maybe he's just pressing to much...It's not like he's Kevin Brown...

well you could look at it this way, both him and walker are not a %100 right now, but the cards arent in much of a race(pretty much got it wrapped up), they can just get by on what they have for backup and coast through the 2nd half until the playoff start. If the race gets closer for the cards, which I dont think it will, your guys shouldnt have alot of pressure to win.

The cards as a team are looking good, I would say this years team is better than last years, and thats just because of how much your starting pitchers have improved. If the cards are looking to make any moves, the only thing I think they can improve on is maybe relief pitching?

I agreewith you on your post the other day, if anyone deserves a ring its Larry Walker, and I would be glad to see the Cards take it all this year just to see a guy like that get a ring, and there are others on the cards, but Walker really sticks out to me, not sure why, just have always had a lot of respect for the guy.

Dave - Larry Walker to me has always been a class guy and because he played in a pimple market like Montreal and a band box in Colorado he's always exemplified professionalism without notoriety. And if you asked Larry he would rather have it that way. He fits in well in the Cardinal (team first) family. Others deserving are Jim Edmonds whose whole career has been a ESPN Sportcenter highlight reel. Matt Morris, Jeff Suppan, Scott Rolen, Julian Tavarez, Ray King even John Mabry whose been with the St.Louis organization on and off his entire career. For the great teammate and companionship of lost starting pitcher Darryl Kile which LaRussa still has DK's 57 Jersey hanging in his office. Departed Cardinals like Tony Womack, Mike Matheny and Woody Williams for his veteran presence and how dominant Woody was when he wore the birds on the bat. And last but not least for Mike Matheny whom unselfishly took Yadier Molina under his wing and answered all the rookies stupid questions and prepared him to handle this staff, for him too.

Thinking of Darryl Kile still brings a tear to my eye as well as the passing of Cardinal great Jack Buck... Yep the history is there but it's up to them to finish the job...

It's a good story that needs a fairytale ending. I just hope this is the year...

Rolen slumpin bad.. ahh Morneau has been just plain horrible if you take out the week or 2 after his head beanball. Rolen had a career year last year though and will never come close to that again. His career averages always put him up there with the 3rd baseman but he was never a complete stud. So take his averages with him being hurt and that explains where he is right now. I have still been holding onto him on one fantasy team hoping he snaps out of it.
