I just got a Lowrance iFinder H2O ($192 shipped)and was told that there is a chip that you can buy that shows you all of the public land and the CRP land in minnesota for that year. If any has any helpful information it would be greatly appriciated.

Unless something new has poped up I think they sold you a some land in the Florida swamps.

I know there are chips for a base map of the US or at least the Northern US.

But I have not heard of a mapping chip that shows just the WMA's or public lands.

I just bought the iFinder Hunt Plus. I also got the LakeMaster Pro Map of Minnesota. I'm not sure they make a chip with the information you have specified. You may be able to create your own map using the Map Create Software. Here is a link to LEI, which will give you the available chips and software for your unit.

Fish Off I purchased the IFinder Hunt Pro addition and it cam with CD-roms called Map Create 6. The GPS came with a card reader that you hook up to your PC load the CDs and you can highlight any area of the U.S. load it to the card and you have detailed maps. I made a Map of South Dakota for a fishing trip last winter and the map had 2 wheel dirt paths that on it that you wouldn't think where a road. I would goto lei-extras.com and see if you can order the CDs and the card reader it has been great for finding public land.

Uphill,

how detailed are the map create 6 for fishing lakes? Are they easy to read if I wanted to fish mille lacs? And do you have to purchase a new one every year or do they update it for free?

Hey boys! After a little research I think I might have found what your talking about.

"FreedomMaps™ USA Topo contain all of these features: topographic contour lines with elevations; rivers/lakes/tributaries; more than 60,000 critical navigation aids; more than 10,000 wrecks/obstructions in coastal and Great Lakes waters; interstate/federal/state highways; interstate exit services; searchable Points-of-Interest (POI) database including: airports, hotels, restaurants, entertainment, emergency services; rural roads and city streets; cities and towns; railways; key landmarks; searchable street intersections and street addresses; national parks and forests with boundaries; wildlife preserves; hunting-specific data (WMAs, WMUs, GMUs, public lands, etc.) and more!"

Here is the link for it http://www.lei-extras.com/store/FreedomMaps/default_topo.asp

I hope this helps. wink.gif
