What does everyone think of the new plastic worms instead of the regular, somewhat difficult to keep healthy nightcrawlers? And do you have a favorite color?

Wow, you just asked a quick question for a huge topic.

As a bass fisherman, there are hundreds of different plastics to pick from. My favorites include 4-5 inch senkos, a variety of tubes(not really a worm) as well as various powerbait and others. It's hard to know what to look for at a store. They haev salted, scented, 3x stretch, they have floating, sinking. They have worm baits, creature baits, tubes, salamanders, etc. The list goes on. The bass forum would be helpful for bass fishing.

Then you also have lures specifically for walleyes, panfish, even pike and muskie. If you are not sure about what to buy or colors, presentations etc, I would post under the forum for the species you want to target, and you will get your question answered much more thouroughly than a broad topic of plastics.

My favorite right now is the Berkley GULP! Ribbon-Tailed worm - I think it is 6" or 7" in length (they only make one model of ribbon-tailed worms)

It has been working excellent for me... the long slender tail offers a ton of action without having to work too hard to produce fish. *shrug*

Plastic worms can be a wonderful bait, but I have healthy nightcrawlers in my refridgerator that have been there for 3 months. I have a composter in my backyard, and store crawlers in compost that is not completely turned to dirt yet. I was worried after a couple months that my Crawlers were dead, but to my surpise they were as healthy as can be.
