I have the 9.9 Pro Kicker model with power tilt& trim

so can't help you. How do you like your 9.9 besides the

bolt problem?? I haven't used mine more than a few times.

It sure is quiet compared to a two stroke

SO THERE IS AN UPDATE FOR THIS? I DID END UP TAKING A CHIP OUT OF THE CAST PIECE ALSO. HAOPFULLY IT WILL HOLD WHEN I GET THE NEW ONE IN. I ORDERED I NEW ONE AND THEY DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT AN UPDATE SO WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

I LIKE THE MOTOR IT WORKS PRETTY GOOD. MY ONLY OTHER COMPLAINT WOULD BE THAT IT IS VERY COLD BLOODED I ALWAYS LET IT WARM UP IN THE MORNING IF IT IS A TOURNAMENT DAY. YOU CAN'T CHOKE IT AT ALL OR IT WILL BE FLOODED INSTANTLY! ONCE ITS WARM THOUGH I DON'T HAVE A SINGLE PROBLEM WITH IT. I WISH I HAD THE 9.9 PRO BUT HAVEN'T DONE WELL ENOUGH THIS YEAR TO PAY FOR THAT.

I had an instance, where in my haste to get out from a shallow boat launch area, I flooded out my kicker.

Ended up using my main motor, and had to wait a good time before I could get the kicker going. I told the story to my dealer, who showed me where the throttle override switch was. By pushing in on this button, you open up the

carb.(Much like holding the pedal to the floor on an older

car). He cautioned me, that it will really rev up when you do this, and to be careful. If your motor is like mine

(I have a 2005 9.9 Pro kicker)& I think they are, the overide is a button-like appendage, located on the opposite

side as the tiller, just below the engine hood. A dealer could show you, if you can't find it. I don't recall seeing

a label or other visual aide showing somebody what the little proturbance does. Hope this helps
