I'm heading to Waubay with my Pops this weekend and it's been quite a few years since I've fished Waubay. Just wondering how deep and what presentation is effective this time of year. Is live bait rigging an option or is it typically to weedy for that? Any information is appreciated. If anyone is heading to the Detroit Lakes area, I will gladly give them some help as I have spent lots of time on the lakes up there.

I have not been there for a month or so but anything and everything I tried worked. I reccomend a jig tipped with a minnow in about ten FOW. Or a slip bobber and plain, red or green hook.

I was out there last week. The walleyes weren't picky, most of ours came on an 1/8 ounce jig with a leech or half a crawler in 12-16 fow. I tried trolling cranks and only could catch gators. I caught a few eyes pulling crawler harnesses to. Good Luck, this steady weather should make for some good fishing.
