What's happening with Jo-Han?

He's definitely not the same as he has been the last few years, I don't think his location has been that great... he has been leaving alot of pitches up in the strike zone and he seems to get rattled much easier than last year.... kinda like Lohse.

jim are u trolling like windy?? lol only in illiNOISE... Johan isnt as sharp as he has been but i will still take him over freddie garcia or anyone else on the whitesox staff even Buhrle. Everyone knows Johan is a 2nd 1/2 pitcher has always been that way.. look for the win total to go up and the era to go down... and as windy would qoute a totally overrated broadcaster,, YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD,,,YES!

Man, I really can't stand Hawk...........getting really old.

You know what I really hate............ "Stretch....stretch........" Wow that's bad. Like Harry....."Long drive, deep drive....caught by Ryne Sanderson at second base".......

Just bad TV.

Hawk and DJ must go!!!!!

What I heard is that the pitching coach changed some things in his mechanics. They did this so he would not tip off his change-up. I don't think it's working too well. The other thing is, maybe the scouting reports have caught up with him, and batters have a better idea of what to do when they face Santana. I still think he is an above average pitcher, and feel confident they will win when he takes the mound. More so than Radke anyways.

If you compare his numbers with last year they are about the same. I have confidence that it is going to be just like last year. We were down by 7 at the all-star break and came back and won the division by 9 games. A sixteen game swing after the all-star break. I know that they are different teams now, but it is going to happen.

Anyone put any stock into Redman calling a bad game yesterday? I don't know, maybe yo-han is having trouble pitching from the stretch. He seems to be doing well then all of a sudden a 2 out rally. Its either mental or mechanical because his arm still seems lively.

I personally think he's going through his dead-arm phase a little later this year. He'll be back.

Also, you've gotta realize that he would be 10-5 this year if Gardy wouldn't leave him out there all night long. I understand that he's your best arm and in many situations you let him work out of jams, but why not go to the pen in the bottom of the seventh with one out and runners on the corners. You've got a guy in the pen who has been lights out all year; you've gotta use him. The exact same thing happened a couple weeks ago in Milwaukee. The recipe that has won us three straight titles is: starter goes six, then two releivers and a closer. We still typically do that with anybody else but Jo. I think Gardy counts on his starts as bullpen rest days.

Yes, compared to last year he's WAY off.

Through 18 starts this season, Santana is 7-5 with a 3.98 ERA, 26 walks and 143 strikeouts.

Through 18 starts last season, Santana was 7-5 with a 3.89 ERA, 29 walks and 125 strikeouts.
