lawdog
Quote: "EARNHARDT" that all I have to say!!! That's exactly what I have against him. He's no good and all you fools who liked his daddy act like he's something. There are any number of deserving guys that can actually drive a car that don't get rides because he rides on his daddy's name and daddy's fans don't see he's no good. How many guys can't even keep a Busch ride but keep getting Cup races????

Macgyver55
Lawdog, whether you like him or not the stats tell a different story than this season portrays. Jr. has the same amount of wins as Jimmie Johnson and more than other drivers that many here (including myself) consider to be fairly good drivers. For instance, Kurt Busch, Ryan Neuman, Sterling Marlin, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Ward Burton, Kevin Harvick, Jeremy Mayfield and Joe Nemechek to name a few currents. It's true he isn't having a good season, and may not have another for a while, or possibly ever for that matter, but past performance shows that he has the ability. To say that "He's no good and all you fools who liked his daddy act like he's something" is a disservice to everybody who has accomplished less than him. This is why I think you are speaking more from emotion than reality. I gather that you race from following the forum, so I would think you of all people know from experience what it takes to win a race. Everything has go right to get there first, and his daddy wasn't in the car driving it for him. I am admittedly an Earnhardt Sr. fan, and much of the reason I followed Nascar died when he did. I became an avid fan back in 1984 but follow it with much less enthusiasm since the fateful day at Daytona. Nascar changed on that day, and sadly it wasn't for the better. NAPAFISH
Mikey has more top tens then Wonderboy, this year. Also maybe more sponsors
JohnMickish
I don't think we need to make any comparisons between Mikey and Jeffy, unless we are talking hair color changes.
eyepatrol
Yeah, I personally wouldn't even go down that route (comparing the 15 and 24), even if I were a huge DEI fan. DEI are my 3rd favorite drivers (24, then 6, then 8/15). One can compare top 10's for this year, but then again, what really matters? Wins...and there's little to compare in that department for this year (or any other year for that matter). Don't get me wrong, I like the 15, but there just isn't a reasonable way to compare the two, this year or any other year.
NAPAFISH
You guys stole my sunshine Just wanted to say he is not as bad as people think, when he has a good crew chief and good cars. When you favorite driver isnt one of the, It makes it all the more special when he wins
JohnMickish
I have no problem with Mikey or his career, in fact I heard he was (is) a real nice guy when he raced on dirt. I used to work with a few guys that ran into him and Kenny Shrader in Alexandria after a late modle race. Many years ago.I guess the only little beef I have with him is he is a bit to corporate for my taste. I like to hear what a guy is thinking, not what he's supposed to say. I understand why it's done I just don't like it.
