Marine Plywood source

fish-n-geek

Question

I'll be redecking a pontoon boat soon, and I've pretty much decided to go the "right" road and use marine plywood. I'll either be ordering it ($200 shipping!) or driving to Minneapolis to get some. Where is the best (cheapest?) place to get 3/4" marine plywood? Wither online or in the Cities area.

Thanks!

I just bought 3 sheets of 1/2inch marine grade for my trailer decking. Retail price for the 1/2 inch was only a one dollar difference! Luckily I got it wholesale from a neighbor.

Rum River is cheaper than Youngblood. For what youngblood charges, I could get it shipped to my house

If you do any woodworking you might want to join the Minnesota Woodworkers Guild ($30/yr) - you get wholesale at Youngbloods, which makes them much more reasonable smile.gif

Teamsters were on strike at Rum River Lumber in Coon Rapids because Rum River Lumber was trying to take away their pension.

(Could be why they are cheaper)

Anyone know if they settled?

Wow - If I were still living in the Twin Cities area, I would definitely join the guild. As it stands, I wouldn't quite save enough on six sheets of ply to justify joining. Oh well...

Thanks for the tip, tho!
