RINGWORMS !!

I use ringworms on the rivers in the Spring time and absolutely love them! You can either verticle jig or pitch depending on the conditions. They basically immitate a minnow so you're just replacing live bait. In comparison they tend to catch larger fish on average. It's not always the answer, but 9 out of 10 times it is. grin.gif

When I'm fishing rivers I tend to stick with 1/8 up to 1/4 oz., but I can imagine getting by even lighter on lakes (I haven't tried). You can get the B-fishin ringies at Gander, and there is also jigs specially made for them...although those I can only find on-line or at Everett's resort in Red Wing. I can tell you those jigs work better than anything on the market for ringies!! As far as colors, there is a wide variety which would be dictated by the waters you fish. I usually start with chart/white core and then move towards blues or pearls. The ringies are 4", with a few other brands/sizes on the market as well. Any more "Q"'s, fire away...

Thanks for your response and yeah this thing is working for me. I never would have thunk. I'm shorefishing and catching walleyes/saugeyes everyday with ringworm. Will try your suggestion on how to work it. I basically am hitting bottom and doing a slow retrieve.
