Your home lake or a different one.

Do you guys fish you "HOME" lake on opener or do you drive somewhere to a different lake?

I live on Ely lake and always seem to fish somewhere else for opener.

I fish my home lake so I can keep an eye on them for guiding. I'll wait a couple of weeks before I head down the road.

I usually fish my *home lakes* (or river)on opener.. which happens to be in the middle of the cities(with the exception of the last 2 years because I didnt live here).. I get the lakes nearly to myself while everyone else fills the gas tanks, loads up way too much stuff in the truck, and joins the parade heading up north.

Occasionaly I will head out of town, but only in the situation where an invite comes around I cant pass up..

This year I will be on the lake in the back yard catching fish.

Usually drive to Winnie. But I have occasionaly done quite well at my home lake (Harriet in the Minneapolis) on opener. Bunch of nice 'eyes and lots of crappies to be had.

I usually fish the St. Louis River and get the Lake Superior eyes before the head back to the lake. I guess that is home, but not a lake.
