1976 25hp Evinrude motor short shaft. This motor has been used on the Rainy River twice this spring without fail. Very dependable motor. $350. (This Motor has a "Johnson 25" cover on it but the serial number is from a Evinrude.) Also Big Screen TV For Sale. Call For More Info. Call 320-309-2944.

That is a johnson motor with an evinrude head. That motor is before 1976 because the 76 had external coils, not just what is under the flywheel.

Does this motor take the modern(standard) type fuel line, or is it the old double hose, pump up the tank situation?

What you have there is a earlier johnson motor that parts were used from a slightly newer evinrude.

I dont know about all this stuff. I just took it to a marine shop and they ran the serial numbers. I wouldnt understand how this could be any part of a johnson (besides the cover) since the serial number is fixed to the motor and the serial number is from an evinrude. I do believe that johnson and evinrude were made by the same company @ that time. i wont challenge the above comment but i am just going from what i was told by a dealer. reguardless...it is a great running motor! I had the lower unit pressure checked to see if the seals were ok and there was no problem there. the compression was also check and there was no problem. it takes the standerd gas hose connection.

if you have any questions please call 320-309-2944 (i.e. serial number). i only get to the computer once a week or so so this will be much more effective. I hope everyone is set for opener!! see ya out there!

They are great motors! I have had a couple of them, very dependable. I would buy this one if it had the external coils..

yes, johnson/evinrude are the same thing..the johnsons were green in that year class, the evinrudes were blue. I think the motors from the late 60's/early 70's, to 76 were all the same, but they went through the transition with the fuel line changing to the more modern line, and the coils changed.

Good motor for whomever buys it .. they are very dependable.
