MRWALLEYE2005
I have used mercury and cenex oils in my motor and my motor smokes alot sometimes when i backtroll. I have a smaller mercury motor and i heard Ams Oil eliminates the smoke. Has anyone tried it before? Is it the Saber one for outboards I should get? huntingislife
I use Amsoil for everything. Any of the 2 cycle oils should work. The dominator series would be a good choice. I had to buy Quicksilver one time because I couldn't get any Amsoil by the time I had to leave. It made an obvious difference when I got the Amsoil back in it. Definitely worth the price if you ask me. I would swear by the Amsoil name. Good luck
ChuckN
I've used AMSOIL in my outboards for a long time. It does not eliminate smoke, but it cuts the smoke down significantly. It also doesn't stink you out of the boat. When you backtroll you will know what I mean.It does eliminate all the "loading up" effects a typical 2 stroke suffers while running at low RPMs for extended periods of time. After trolling for awhile, hit the throttle down and you go without hesitation. If you have oil injection, use the HP Injector by the gallon. Pre-mix is a different deal, and there are different choices to look at for what you prefer for ratios.
Northlander
Im very happy with my Amsoil products. I think it really helps with cold weather starts and fore sure a lot less exhaust. I also think it helps with loadups when trolling for long periods of time as stated above.
Keith_MN
My family (Dad and 4 brothers) are all users of Amsoil. We have used it in our our two-stroke motorcycles, outboards, chainsaws, ice-augers, etc. for over 20 years with no problems. Very good product for all the reasons stated above. Doonbuggy
Thanks very much for the info above. Silly question, but just want to confirm that when I premix I would only mix gas and AMSOIL together and not gas, AMSOIL, and another 2-cycle oil all together. Can I assume that Dick's/Gander/Fleet Farm sell AMSOIL? Thanks.DB
huntingislife
True,Just mix gas and 2 cycle Amsoil. Amsoil is a 2 cycle oil. You don't want to mix different 2 cycle oils together. I know gander has amsoil but not sure about the others.
tashit
Fleet had it on sale last week although I think Gander was still a buck or two cheaper for a gallon.
