I know there already has been a post on this reel but I have a question, With the brake system in it do you pull the little plastic pins out, I have tried with all of the pins out, and with one pin still in. with them all, out i got to many backlashes, and with one in, it felt like there was to much braking. So my question is, is there a way to have the brake system set between one pin and no pins?

I think you have the tension knob by the handle too tight. Lure should slowly fall and when it hits the ground the spool shouldn't turn more than one time. I have 3 pins in and 3 pins out (opposite sides) so if you have a pin out then directly across that pin is also out.

I think Thomas is right about the tension knob. Make sure you have the tension knob set so that the lure just barely falls when you hold the rod out at a 90 degree angle and release the spool. This is the same on all baitcasters. When I first started with reels with the braking system I pulled most of them out. After practice you can eventually get to all of the brakes pushed in.

the braking system needs to be set even like every other in. look at the manuel that came with the reel it should help its towrds the end and ya check the tention next to the reel. the noobs are just extra precaution. if they are all in the reel will spin faster thus having more backlash if they are all out it will stop easyer making it harder to get backlash but you wont cast as far. but this wont help unless the tention is set right the knob next to the reel. i hope this makes sense i am in a hurry and got to get to work.
